Iphone frenzy in Dunedin

Don't get me wrong... I love my Mac. I have been criticised for my preference for mac over PCs. But I had to weigh in on the hype over the iPhone.

Today, at 9am, the iPhone was released in Dunedin. I had read about the frenzy in Apple stores in the US. I had to take a look at what Dunedin had to offer in the way of Frenzy...

I apologise I took a photo but it was a bit blurry. So imagine this. A line of people outside Magnum Mac in Dunedin ... 10 people.

That's right 10 people. That's what constitutes a frenzy here in downtown Dunedin.

Either that or they are the only people who can afford the outrageous plans for the phone ! $80 per month for the cheap plan up to $250 per month for the expensive plan. Needless to say, I wasn't one of the 10 people lining up. :)

Hey Jane

LOL I have had a little giggle as I could imagine the scene you encountered this morning. I did my Degree through Dunedin's Teacher's College. It is funny what advertising can do for us.
I look forward to when the prices come down and then we all can get one. Until then I am happy with my palm Treo :+)

I reckon it was Apple's rent a crowd. They couldn't have their opening go by with no one there!

I'm with heymilly the pricing pans are way out of control. I'm happy to sit and wait. (At home, feet up, for quite sometime yet)

I too was really excited when i heard about Apple's $199 global price for the iphone. Needless to say I was staggered by the pricing plan as many others were...$199 dollars to buy and then $250 per month?!! You might as well buy a new phone very month...
I love the iphone concept, but I too will wait!
